Allowing the forest to speak with me

After a little digital silence, I’m here again—soaked in the rhythm of the Coromandel Peninsula, where time dissolves into birdsong, waves and the whisper of trees.
I’ve taken some much-needed time out to reconnect, to let go and to simply be with nature. No agenda. Just presence.
The land here is medicine. I feel it realigning my breath, my thoughts, my spirit. Sometimes the most productive thing we can do is rest deeply. Return to stillness. Let the earth hold us.
I’ll be sharing more soon, but for now… I’m letting the forest speak.
After days of stillness and listening, I find myself in quiet communion with this land - not just walking through the forest, but letting it teach me
Lately, I’ve been reading a book about Aotearoa’s native trees and forests. That’s it. No rush, no goals - just turning pages, breathing deeply and letting the stories of rimu, kauri, kahikatea and tōtara settle into my bones
It feels like the most honest thing I can do right now: learn the language of this place. Understand who stands beside me when I walk. Honour the green elders that have been here far longer than us.
I’m not seeking meaning - I’m letting it find me.
For now, I’m just where I need to be.
